Republican Candidate for City of Concord Mayor

Bill Dusch
Mayor of Concord (2017-2025)

I’m proud to endorse Steve Morris for Mayor of Concord.”

I’ve known Steve for a long time, more than 30 years now. We’ve served together in different roles, and during my nearly 8 years as Mayor, I worked closely with him while he chaired the County Commission.

What always stood out to me was his steadiness. Steve isn’t flashy. He doesn’t raise his voice to make a point. But he listens. He shows up. He brings people together. And in local government, that matters more than people realize.

If you’ve lived in Concord for a while, you’ve probably seen the difference his leadership made, whether you realized it or not. The new jobs. The business growth. The steady pace of change that kept Concord feeling like home even as it evolved. Steve had a lot to do with that.

He’s served on more local boards than I can count. He’s stayed rooted in every part of this community, working quietly, consistently, for the people who live here.

And now, as Concord continues to grow, we need someone who knows this city – its history, its challenges, its people – and who’s ready to serve again, with the same steadiness and heart he’s shown all along.
That’s Steve Morris. I trust him. And I hope you will too.

Scott Padgett
Mayor of Concord (2001-2017)

Steve Morris will make a great Mayor because he truly cares about people. He has a long record of service, including years of volunteering for causes that benefit our community.”

He’s a problem-solver who doesn’t care about who gets the credit, just that the job gets done.

One example: he worked tirelessly for years to help bring a much-needed mental health facility to Cabarrus County. That kind of dedication is exactly what Concord needs in a Mayor, and I am proud to support him.

J.C. McKenzie
Concord City Council (2017-2025)

“I’m proud to endorse Steve Morris as the next Mayor of Concord.”

Steve is the kind of leader our city needs: someone with integrity, a strong work ethic, and a real commitment to public service. His deep knowledge of the issues, along with his passion for Concord’s future, make him well-prepared to navigate both the challenges and opportunities ahead.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Steve for many years, and I’ve seen firsthand how he approaches governance. He listens to the community, responds to concerns, and always strives to do what’s right for the people of Concord.

At a time when steady, thoughtful leadership matters most, Steve Morris is the right choice for Mayor. I hope you’ll join me in supporting him this November.

I take politics seriously. I read a quotation long ago that said: You may not like politics but POLITICS likes YOU! And that message can work in negative as well as positive ways. I am supporting STEVE MORRIS for mayor as he exemplifies this quote in the most positive of ways.

I appreciate his contemplative approach to ideas.
I appreciate his calm and respective manner, even in a firestorm.
I appreciate his encyclopedic knowledge of Concord’s strengths and needs.
I appreciate his generosity in offering his time to listen and to lead.
I appreciate his sense of honor, a rare commodity in politics today.

Don’t just go to the polls on Election Day. Pound 10 others, maybe folks who don’t always participate, into voting that day. Tell them you are going to call to MAKE SURE they did!
